Snow Day

It has been snowing all day.  As pretty as it is, under the snow is yesterday's gift -- almost half an inch of ice. This did, it should be noted, follow a 65 degree day.  Needless to say, I haven't left the house much in the last two days.  I've had plenty to keep me busy, so I've actually been quite content.  Plenty of groceries.  Loads of coffee.  But I do feel the urge to bake -- or, perhaps, to make some of these:

I have to say that I'm not really a huge marshmallow fan, but homemade ones are delicious.  While they do require a rather ridiculous amount of corn syrup, it's okay for a special treat.  Hope you all are staying warm and enjoying, here at least, what will probably be the last bit of winter.

A New Home

I'm settling in to this new blog as I've left the old one behind. I started Project 8256 as I way to help my sister and brother-in-law raise needed funding in their efforts to adopt from Ethiopia. I'm excited to say that their daughter is almost here! What a process! We are all so excited and thankful and hopeful -- so many things. So as that project is coming to a close, I thought it was appropriate to make a fresh start. Here goes...
